ElLocoRidiculus An incredible experience through time and space. Song of the Water mixed with mushrooms and a starry sky and you'll reconsider the meaning of life :O Favorite track: Song of the Water.

turbowolffe Simply one of the best albums of anything in my collection. I would buy and worship this on vinyl if only it were available. This is so far removed from the other music I adore but there is something so magical, addictive and satisfying about these songs. I pray for the sequel to this album! Favorite track: Paladin's Theme.

Drexcited Another one that makes it basically impossible to choose a favorite, so again, I love all of them. That aside, this production is very special to me. This is one of the pieces of music that really brings the listener to another place. And to own this on such a beautiful cassette, wow!

Keep making music, Chris Paladin. Favorite track: Paladin's Theme.

about

Whilst still dealing with the usual cosmic themes, the second full Mild Peril album is a deliberate attempt to take new ideas and some developed for previous releases and instil them with more of a sense of humour and maybe even a bit of ‘dance-floor drive’.

‘Matter' is an album of mythic space synth where heroic lead lines soar over dramatic accompaniments, drawing on influences ranging from psychedelic and progressive rock of the 60s and 70s, to the ‘Berlin School’ of sequencer based electronic music and the cosmic disco that followed in the 70s and 80s, through to ambient electronica and even ‘New Age’ music of the 1990s.

The influence of particular prog rock guitar and keyboard styles has lent a slight folk or ‘cod medieval’ feel to the melodies, inspiring a mythical theme - the title of the album references medieval legend and story cycles, i.e. ‘the Matter of Britain’. I imagined a kind of intergalactic mythology that would be as relevant today as it was a thousand years ago.

I'm very happy to be releasing this album with Telefuture - many thanks to them and their fans for the support and to everyone who has followed me thus far.
